Overview

The Mizuno JPX925 Fli-Hi is a hollow-style utility iron for 2025. It's built to replace hard-to-hit long irons, giving a higher ball flight and better gapping at the top of the bag. It comes in lofts from 19 to 28 degrees.

The coverage agrees on the main points. Internal weighting is meant to help the ball get airborne. The Wave sole is said to add ball speed and use more of the face at impact, which should help with distance and consistency. The stronger-lofted heads have a wider profile, which makes them more forgiving. A rounder leading edge is designed to move through the turf more smoothly.

Weight sits toward the back of the head, which gives it a mild draw bias. Keep this in mind if you already tend to miss left.

What reviewers like

  • Higher launch than a traditional long iron, helped by internal weighting
  • Wave sole designed to boost ball speed and distance
  • Forgiving, especially the wider, stronger-lofted heads
  • Rounded leading edge for smoother turf interaction
  • Wide loft range, 19-28 degrees, helps gapping at the top of the set

Watch out for

  • Draw-biased weighting may not suit players who already miss left

Who it suits

This club suits golfers who struggle to launch long irons and want more height and control from their strongest-lofted clubs. It's a good fit for mid-to-high handicappers filling the top of the bag.
